Welcome To The Hewson Beach! January, 2013

Welcome To Our Class Beach.
The children wanted to create ocean creatures using mural paper...
So they did!!!

Our beach continues to be a work in progress.
Parents donated some of the "honeycomb" decorations.

A few tarps, shower curtains, and sheets of fabric, can be
turned into an ocean retreat!

Always focusing on literacy, here are some great
reads for the children to discover more about
oceans and the creatures that live there.

Lots of props, hats, goggles, flippers, and costumes.
Behind that, are photos of children playing at the beach.

Surf's Up!! (yes, we do have a couple of boys who
pretend to surf!)
Behind that "wall" of water, is our fishing game!

SHARK!!

Palm trees for that tropical feel!
Plus, there is also a hidden CD player which has gulls, waves
crashing, children giggling, and other sounds you might
hear while by the ocean!

The kids are OBSESSED with this bird!!

Notice to the far-left, is a great word wall about Oceans and Sea Life.
The kids often read these with our magic reading pointers,
use them as inspiration for drawing pictures, or
playing "Write Around The Room".
